About me
My name is Daria. I am a young artist from America, dedicated to one day making art my living. I've drawn ever since I was little, and have always known that I wanted to pursue art fully.
In my artwork, I inquire about the human condition through my personal experiences. Expressing the intricacies of what I feel, I portray my experiences the way I see them: as melancholic, conflicting and compelling. I achieve melancholia through colors; I’m drawn to muted, pensive color palettes with injections of sage greens or lavender purples and play with dramatic stretches of light and dark while maintaining subtle value shifts. I achieve conflict with contrasting expressions, body language, rendering or objects that become obvious the more you take in a piece. By utilizing different themes, tools and techniques, I can fully encapsulate my portrayal of growing up and the struggles of forming my selfhood. I depict a mute depression and inner conflict.
